January 14, 2012 marked our club's first Business Meeting of the New Year. And what a year this will be. 2011 saw overwhelming victories for our slate of endorsed local and County candidates. Not so this year. We are faced with a tough race at the top of the ticket. One of our own, Margo Hunt, is screening for the position of Alternate Delegate to the August National Convention in Tampa, Florida. We support Margo and wish her well. From that convention will emerge a Presidential Candidate around whom we can and should rally. Keep in mind too that our U.S. Congressman, Mike Fitzpatrick and PA State Representative, Kathy Watson both face re-election this year. I am confident that all Members, Associates and Fiends of the Club will do all that is required to ensure victory in November!

Our first Guest Speaker of the New Year was Brandon Posner, newly elected Chair of the Bucks County Teenaged Republicans. Brandon made an excellent presentation at our January meeting and I look forward to working with him and his organization in the coming months. I know their youth, energy and enthusiasm will ignite our membership through such things as Voter Registration Infinitives and help at the polls in April and November. I also see a roll for them in our community service projects such as the Highway Beautification and EMS Landscaping efforts.

2010 NBTRC Scholarship Award Featured

Our first Scholarship Award was presented to James Lupica on June 3rd.  James is a fine young man who will be attending Penn States College of Technology pursuing a Degree in Architecture.  He and his parents were invited to attend our June 19th meeting as special guests. Myra Savage, a member of our Selection Committee, and President Bob Harle made the presentation and extended the invitation at Central Bucks High School Souths Awards Program.  Many awards and scholarships were presented that  night and the breath and depth of studies being pursued by our future leaders was amazing.   Among the comments we have recieved: "This is really fantastic.  My congrats to all of you for thinking of this idea and then raising the funds, etc. to see it through.  You are truly a role model for others clubs throughout the county."     Pat Poprick, Vice Chair of the Bucks County GOP

Folks,      First of all, we want to thank all of you who have come out to help with the door knocking and the phone banks.  This is extremely important work and we are getting a lot of it done ( last week, Bucks was 7th in the state..a great move up from 22nd..thanks!)  but there is so much more to do.       We have heard that some folks, when called to help, have stated that they would like to help but....       A) "they are very busy"..we are probably sending this email to some of the busiest folks in the county and yet many of you have found or will find time to help       B) " they dont like making those phone calls"...well, actually, we dont think many of the folks making them LIKE to do it ....but they are doing it because they know that these calls are very important because they are identifying the Independents and soft Democrats that are supporting our candidates.  Based on earlier polling, we really hope and expect that MOST republicans will vote for our candidates...the winning component for our candidates, is to get the votes of the Independents and some Ds.  Having made calls on these phones in Doylestown, we can tell you that they go very fast and we are getting responses that will help us project how these critical voters ( Ind. & soft Dems) will vote.  These calls are doing "microtargeting" and this info is ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL to our Get Out The Vote (GOTV) efforts.  On Election Day, we want to drive the Republicans and those identified favorable Indeps. & Dems to the polls.        C) "they are working in their own district"...this is great but ....we have to ask you to do more...to reach out and help in the areas where we may not have committeepeople or where we need more info on these targeted voters.         So, please consider coming out just one time...just one...if every person receiving this email would do that,  we would fill almost all of the phones and cover the districts needed.  Can you give ONE NIGHT or AFTERNOON to see that Mike Fitzpatrick and Pat Toomey return to Washington... that Tom Corbett & Jim Cawley go to Harrisburg with all of our incumbent state senators and state reps and that we send Rob Ciervo, Jane Burger and Kevin Glasson to join them???  Can you do that for your family, your children and grandchildren?  Can you spare ONE NIGHT to change this country and help us get the majority in both Washington and Harrisburg??  The famous quote, "Now is the time for all good men ( and women) to come to the aid of their party ( and their country)" is most appropriate now.  You are needed and we cant win without you  ......we know you wont let our candidates down.        We have a Victory Center right at GOP HQ in Doylestown.  Kira Marles, our Victory coordinator is there Mon Fri from 10am to 8 pm; on Saturday from 10am to 7pm and on Sunday from 11am to 6 pm.  Hopefully, you can find some block of time that you can give to help Mike, Pat, Tom, Jim, and all of our state senators and state representative candidates.       Thanks again for all that you are already doing...with all of us working together we will win!!!       Regards,     Harry Fawkes & Pat Poprik   Note from President Bob Harle:   ADDRESSED TO ALL THOSE NBTRC MEMBERS WHO ARE CONSIDERING HELPING OUT BETWEEN NOW AND NOVEMBER 2.  HERE IT IS, YOUR OPPORTUNITY.  ITS YOUR DECISION TO MAKE.  ITS A DONATION OF YOUR TIME!!  AND REMEMBER, 20102012 ARE ARE NOT ONLY FOR FOR US BUT FOR OUR CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN.  SIMPLE AS THAT FOLKS!!!!  JUST CALL 215.345.6811 TO FIND OUT HOW YOU CAN HELP.      Thank you for your consideration.

President's Message Featured

I think it goes without saying that we all have had a rough go over the last several years. I am speaking both economically and politically. I do, however, sense a turning point as recently witnessed in last Novembers General Election. The help and support of all New Britain Township Republican Club members is more critical now than ever. You just helped choose good people from the county on down to the local level to run in the November 2011 General Election. Now your duty is to ensure their election at that time. Then, before you catch your breath, we will be entering a Presidential Election Cycle where your support and enthusiasm will again be required. I am confident that a candidate will emerge from the pack currently lining up that we can all support and rally around to retake the White house and lets not forget the Senate. I would also like all members and Friends of the Club to be aware that one of our own, USMC Major. Dean Malik, is being recalled to duty. He has just received his orders and will be deploying to Africa after training in Italy. God speed young man, our prayers are with you. We will miss you and await your safe return.
